Keys to the City: Colorado Ballet

The Colorado Ballet can be best described in three words: elegant, artistic and dynamicOffering eight studios and a black box theatre, the ballet can host a variety events from wedding receptions to childrens birthday parties and performances.

Founded in 1951, this nationally recognized art institution produces world-class classical ballet from their professional company and offers outstanding instruction for children and experience at all levelsTheir new space, designed by Semple Brown Design (the same architects as Ellie Caulkins Opera House in the Denver Performing Arts Center), is a dramatic modern renovation of a 100-year-old building in the increasingly bustling Santa Fe Arts District.

The Colorado Ballet’s new home, the Armstrong Center for Dance was completed in August 2014. Each of the eight studios include large windows, bright, open spaces, full length mirrors and ballet barres. The black box theatre seats 150+ with retractable seating, and has hosted performances, photo/video productions, weddings and rehearsals dinners, fundraisers and fashion shows. This already inspiring space is enhanced by beautiful local artwork from Space Gallery, and their hidden wardrobe floor (available for tours). Multiple studios can be rented to meet any event needs, and both the hallway and lobby area are available at an additional cost for concessions or catering.
